As the second round of gender pay gap reporting draws to a close, the news isn’t good. Many companies, including npower, Kwik Fit and Virgin Atlantic, have attracted criticism for reporting even wider pay gaps than last year.

This special report provides top-tips for reducing gender pay gaps and explains how UCL went about tackling the equality barriers facing its working mothers.

If there’s anything to be learned, it’s that the underlying issues driving pay disparity have yet to be addressed. Issues such as unproductive ‘seen to be there’ cultures and flexibility stigma, which prevent women in particular from progressing into more senior roles.
